About

Our Mission

Welcome to Leave for Love Jewelry — a brand with a purpose: to raise awareness and advocate for paid family leave in the United States.

According to a report published by 1,000 Days, “workers need access to a minimum of 12 weeks, but ideally 6 months (24 weeks), of paid leave annually to support the health and well-being of moms, children, and their families.”

Yet, the U.S. remains one of the only countries in the world without a national paid leave policy. This leaves families with little to no time to bond, heal, or adjust during life’s most vulnerable and transformative moments.

Through our handcrafted jewelry, we aim to create meaningful conversations and advocate for a future where everyone has access to paid leave. Together, we have the power to make a difference and inspire change.

Join us in our mission to make paid family leave a reality for all.

My Story

The day before my maternity leave ended, I remember sitting in my room with tears streaming down my face, googling, “Why am I not ready to go back to work after maternity leave?” I didn’t know if what I was feeling was normal.

The truth was that I wasn’t ready to step back into the world outside of motherhood. I didn’t feel like I had enough time to fully adjust to my new chapter. My baby was still so young and I had a deep, natural pull to stay with my newborn.

Through my search, I read about women who were still physically recovering from childbirth yet already back at work, struggling with exhaustion, pain, and the emotional toll of leaving their newborns too soon. I came across stories of mothers who spent their entire maternity leave in the NICU, never getting the chance to enjoy those first precious weeks at home. Others with no paid leave at all were forced to patch together PTO, sick days, and even unpaid time just to get a few short weeks to heal, bond with their baby, and adjust to the transition into parenthood.

Then, I came across stories from women in other countries who shared their experiences with maternity leave: 6 months, 9 months, or even a full year at home with their babies!

It made me think… It doesn’t have to be this way. We CAN do better. We HAVE to do better.

While I was blessed with 12 weeks of paid maternity leave, I still really struggled. I can only imagine how much more difficult it is for the countless families in America without access to paid leave, facing heartbreaking choices between financial stability and the time they need to care for their loved ones or themselves.

That’s when I felt a calling to create something that would shine a light on the need for paid leave, build a supportive community, and help contribute to a better future for families. I wanted to combine my passion for creativity with my desire to advocate for change. Leave for Love Jewelry was born from the belief that even small actions can make a big difference.

Whether welcoming a child, recovering from childbirth, grieving a loss, or adjusting to a new chapter through adoption, every family deserves access to time, care, and support.

This isn’t just about jewelry. It’s about something worth fighting for.
